Florentino Ibrain Morris Luís

Florentino Ibrain Morris Luís, known as Florentino, is a Portuguese defensive midfielder born in Lisbon in 1999. He developed at Benfica’s Seixal academy from 2010, progressing through the club’s youth system before making his senior breakthrough during the 2018–19 season under Bruno Lage. Florentino helped Benfica win the Liga Portugal title that campaign, establishing himself as a screening midfielder who protects the defence and intercepts passes. After losing his place, he gained experience on loan at Monaco in 2020–21 and Getafe in 2021–22. He returned to Benfica in 2022 and became a regular under Roger Schmidt, contributing to a side that reached the Champions League quarter-finals. At international level, Florentino helped Portugal win the European Under-17 title in 2016 and the Under-19 championship in 2018. He is currently listed with Ipswich.
