Francisco Javier Gil Zúñiga

Francisco Javier Gil Zúñiga is a Mexican football defender who has built the latter part of his career in Gibraltar. He developed in Mexico with CD Veracruz and Ficumdep de Xalapa before progressing through Pachuca's youth system. Zúñiga later continued his career in Gibraltar, where he represented Mons Calpe SC. On 1 January 2020, he joined the Magpies on a free transfer and became a regular part of the club's defensive group. He featured in two UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying matches in 2022/23, playing 180 minutes, and logged 270 minutes in the 2021/22 Rock Cup. Zúñiga extended his Magpies contract in June 2024, with the agreement running to 30 June 2026.
