Frederick John Woodman

Frederick John Woodman is an English goalkeeper born in London in 1997. He developed at Newcastle United after joining the academy in 2013, progressing through the youth ranks before gaining senior experience through loans at Hartlepool United, Crawley Town, Kilmarnock and Aberdeen. Woodman then established himself at Swansea City, where he kept 20 Championship clean sheets in 2020–21, won the division’s Golden Glove and helped the club reach the play-offs. Internationally, he represented England at youth level and was central to the under-20 side’s 2017 World Cup triumph, saving a penalty in the final against Venezuela and receiving the tournament’s Golden Glove. He made his Premier League debut for Newcastle at the beginning of the 2021–22 season, although Karl Darlow’s return ended his run in the side. After continuing his development with Preston North End, Woodman joined Liverpool in July 2025. At Liverpool, Frederick John Woodman provides goalkeeper cover while drawing on his Championship and international experience.
