Francesco Rossi

Francesco Rossi is an Italian goalkeeper from Merate, born on 27 April 1991. He began his development with Audace Osnago before entering Atalanta’s academy and progressing through the club’s youth system. Rossi was promoted to Atalanta’s senior squad in June 2009, initially serving as the third-choice goalkeeper. To gain senior experience, he moved on loan to Lumezzane, making his professional debut in a Coppa Italia match in August 2011, and later had temporary spells with Cuneo, Pavia, Lupa Roma, Prato and Teramo. He returned to Atalanta in January 2017 and subsequently made his Serie A debut against Cagliari late in the 2017–18 season. Standing 1.93 metres tall, Rossi has provided experienced goalkeeping cover and support for younger keepers within Atalanta’s squad. He was part of the Atalanta team that won the 2023–24 UEFA Europa League.
