Florian Grégoire Claude Lejeune

Florian Grégoire Claude Lejeune is a French centre-back who plays with his right foot. Born in Paris in 1991, he developed through French amateur football, emerging at RCO Agde before moving to Istres. At Istres, a defensive midfield role became central defence, where his height and passing supported the transition. In 2011, Lejeune joined Villarreal and later spent time on loan at Brest, before establishing himself at Girona. Manchester City signed him in 2015, but he returned to Girona on loan and then impressed for Eibar. Newcastle United recruited him in 2017, where he contributed to build-up play and endured ACL injuries in successive seasons. He scored twice in stoppage time against Everton in January 2020, helping Newcastle draw 2–2. After returning to Spain with Alavés, Lejeune joined Rayo Vallecano, where he remains a senior defensive presence.
