Filip Jörgensen

Filip Jörgensen is a Danish goalkeeper born in Lomma, Sweden, on 16 April 2002. He began at GIF Nike Lomma and moved into the Malmö FF academy before switching from striker to goalkeeping around the age of 10. After his family moved to Mallorca, he developed with AD Penya Arrabal and RCD Mallorca, then joined Villarreal’s academy in 2017. Jörgensen progressed through Villarreal C and B before making his first-team debut in December 2021. In 2023/24, he became Villarreal’s regular goalkeeper, starting 36 La Liga matches and recording 143 saves, the league’s highest total that season. Chelsea signed him in July 2024, adding a goalkeeper whose game combines shot-stopping with confident distribution. Born to a Danish father and Swedish mother, Jörgensen represented Sweden at under-17 and under-19 level before choosing Denmark and making his senior debut in a 2–1 win over Northern Ireland on 7 June 2025.
