Filip Viktor Helander

Filip Viktor Helander is a Swedish centre-back born in Malmö on 22 April 1993. He developed with Kvarnby and Husie IF before joining Malmö FF’s academy in 2007, making his senior debut in 2011. Helander became a regular in 2013 and helped Malmö FF win consecutive Allsvenskan titles in 2013 and 2014, with the latter campaign bringing Champions League group-stage football. In 2015 he moved to Hellas Verona and then joined Bologna in 2016, continuing his development in Serie A. Rangers signed Helander in 2019, and he helped the club win the unbeaten 2020–21 Scottish Premiership season. At international level, he represented Sweden’s under-21 side in its 2015 European Championship triumph and later featured in Sweden’s 2018 World Cup and Euro 2020 squads. After spells with Omonia Nicosia and a return to Sweden, Helander is registered with BK Häcken.
