Florian Grillitsch

Florian Grillitsch is an Austrian midfielder born in Neunkirchen on 7 August 1995. He began at SVSF Pottschach before joining St. Pölten, where he helped win the 2012–13 Austrian U18 championship and finished that season as the league’s top scorer with 22 goals. In July 2013, Grillitsch moved to Werder Bremen and developed through the club’s youth and reserve sides before making his senior debut in August 2015. He joined 1899 Hoffenheim in 2017, spending five seasons with the Bundesliga club and broadening his game as a deep-lying midfielder. Under Julian Nagelsmann, he was used as a defensive six, while his positional flexibility also allowed him to operate in defence. Grillitsch later joined Ajax in 2022 before returning to Hoffenheim a year later. He has represented Austria at Euro 2020 and Euro 2024.
