Finn Gilbert Dahmen

Finn Gilbert Dahmen is a German goalkeeper born in Wiesbaden on 27 March 1998. He began at FC Bierstadt before joining Eintracht Frankfurt’s academy in 2006, then moving to FSV Mainz 05 in 2008. Dahmen spent 15 years in Mainz’s system, progressing through its youth ranks and eventually reaching the senior squad. He represented Germany through the youth levels and was the first-choice goalkeeper when Germany won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in 2021. Dahmen made his Bundesliga debut on 3 January 2021, starting against Bayern Munich in a match Mainz eventually lost 5–2. Seeking regular playing time, he left Mainz on a free transfer in summer 2023 for FC Augsburg, where he became a first-choice goalkeeper. In 2025, Dahmen set Augsburg’s club record by going 433 minutes without conceding, surpassing Marwin Hitz’s previous mark. At Augsburg, he has been described as proactive, using his reflexes, distribution and willingness to leave his line to support the defence.
