Fabio Christian Chiarodia

Fabio Christian Chiarodia is an Italian defender born in Oldenburg on 5 June 2005. He began at VfL Oldenburg before joining Werder Bremen’s academy in 2014, progressing through the youth teams and signing a professional contract in 2021. Chiarodia became Werder’s youngest DFB-Pokal player in October 2022 against Paderborn, then made his Bundesliga debut against Freiburg days later. In March 2023, he became the youngest starter in Bremen’s Bundesliga history when he faced Borussia Mönchengladbach. He moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach in summer 2023 and continued developing through senior and reserve football. Primarily a centre-back, Chiarodia can also play as a left-sided defender or holding midfielder, using anticipation and progressive passing in build-up. He represented Italy’s youth teams, helped the Under-19 side win the 2023 European Championship, and made his Italy Under-21 debut in September 2025.
