Eduardo Filipe Quaresma Vieira Coimbra Simões

Eduardo Quaresma is a Portuguese defender born in Barreiro on 2 March 2002. He began playing at GD Fabril before joining Sporting CP’s academy in 2011, where his early midfield experience supported his later development as a centre-back. Quaresma made his senior Sporting debut in June 2020 and became the club’s youngest defender to start a league match. He subsequently gained experience on loan with CD Tondela in 2021–22 and 1899 Hoffenheim in 2022–23. After returning to Sporting, Eduardo Quaresma re-established himself in the first team during the 2023–24 season. A right-sided centre-back in Sporting’s defensive system, he contributes to build-up play through ball carrying and passing while using anticipation to cut out danger. He helped the club win Liga Portugal in 2024 and 2025.
