Erik Simonyan

Erik Simonyan is an Armenian centre-back, born on June 12, 2003, and standing 1.83 metres tall. He developed in FC Urartu’s youth system and was promoted to the senior squad in January 2020, beginning his progression into senior football. In February 2022, Simonyan moved to BKMA Yerevan on loan, where regular top-flight football helped him gain experience in both back-four and back-three systems. He returned to Urartu on December 30, 2023, and continued to build his reputation as a central defender capable of covering space and contributing to the defensive line. Simonyan played the full 90 minutes against Neman Grodno in a UEFA Conference League qualifier on July 10, 2025, despite Urartu’s 2–1 defeat. He has also been involved with Armenia’s under-21 setup and is currently listed with Pyunik Yerevan.
