Ethan James Santos

Ethan James Santos is a Gibraltar international centre-back born in Gibraltar on 22 December 1998. He developed through the territory’s domestic football system before establishing himself in senior football. Santos played for Mons Calpe from 2019 to 2022, a period in which he became a regular central defender and gained experience in UEFA Conference League qualifying. He made his senior Gibraltar debut against Montenegro in a 2021 FIFA World Cup qualifier. Santos has since featured in demanding matches for Gibraltar, including the goalless draw with Wales in June 2024. Primarily a centre-back, he can also cover at right-back when tactical changes require defensive flexibility. His game combines positional discipline with aerial work and responsibility in build-up play.
