Elías Rafn Ólafsson

Elías Rafn Ólafsson is an Icelandic goalkeeper born in Reykjavík on 11 March 2000. Standing 2.01 metres tall, he developed in Iceland before moving to Danish club FC Midtjylland in July 2018. Ólafsson gained senior experience on loan with Aarhus Fremad in 2019, then played for FC Fredericia in Denmark’s first division. He later continued his development with Portuguese second-tier side CD Mafra during the 2023–24 season. After returning to Midtjylland, Ólafsson competed for a first-team role and developed into a goalkeeper combining shot-stopping with proactive work outside his area. He was named Danish Superliga Player of the Month in September 2021 and made his senior Iceland debut against Armenia in a World Cup qualifier on 8 October that year. Ólafsson remains linked with FC Midtjylland and the Iceland national team.
