Emil Alfons Holm

Emil Alfons Holm is a Swedish defender from Göteborg, standing 1.91 metres tall and capable of playing at right-back or on the right flank. He developed in the IFK Göteborg academy and reached the senior team in 2019, making his Allsvenskan debut that June. Holm helped IFK Göteborg win the Svenska Cupen in 2019–20 before moving to Italy with Spezia in 2021 and arriving in Serie A the following season. He joined Atalanta on loan for 2023–24, making 32 appearances across competitions as the club won the UEFA Europa League. Holm moved to Bologna in 2024 and was part of the squad that won the Coppa Italia in 2025. His game combines long, powerful runs with defensive recovery work, aerial strength and overlapping width. Holm made his senior Sweden debut against Mexico in November 2022 after representing the country at youth level.
