Eggert Aron Guðmundsson

Eggert Aron Guðmundsson is an Icelandic midfielder who developed in Stjarnan’s youth system before making his senior breakthrough with the Garðabær club. In 2023, he scored 12 goals in Iceland’s Besta deild karla, establishing himself as an influential attacking midfielder. He moved to IF Elfsborg in early 2024, gaining experience in Sweden’s Allsvenskan. In February 2025, Guðmundsson joined Norwegian club Brann, where he continued to combine creative responsibility with work across midfield. During Brann’s 2025 league campaign, he recorded five goals and five assists while creating chances and progressing the ball through midfield. His role has developed from a number 10 into a more versatile 8/10, with greater emphasis on ball retention, defensive discipline and late arrivals in the box. Guðmundsson has also represented Iceland at under-21 level and is listed with both Brann and Iceland U21.
