Edvinas Gertmonas

Edvinas Gertmonas is a Lithuanian goalkeeper born on 1 June 1996 in Šilalė. He developed at FK Tauras before joining Atlantas Klaipėda in 2014, then moved to Rennes in January 2015. He made no senior appearance in France, but Gertmonas was part of Rennes’ squad for the 2018–19 Coupe de France triumph. He returned to Lithuania in August 2019 for FK Žalgiris Vilnius, winning three A Lyga titles from 2020 to 2022, plus two Lithuanian Cups. Gertmonas was named Lithuanian Footballer of the Year in 2022. He gained European qualifying experience with Žalgiris and progressed through Lithuania’s under-17, under-19 and under-21 teams before reaching the senior side. At 1.92 metres, he combines reach with shot-stopping and proactive work outside his area.
