Edimilson Fernandes Ribeiro
Edimilson Fernandes Ribeiro is a Swiss midfielder born in Sion on 15 April 1996. He developed at FC Sion and made his Swiss Super League debut for the club in 2013. Fernandes established himself with Sion before helping them win the 2014–15 Swiss Cup. In 2016, he moved to West Ham United, where he scored his first goal for the club in a 2–1 EFL Cup victory over Chelsea. A loan at Fiorentina preceded his permanent transfer to Mainz 05 in 2019, and in Germany he was used as a defensive midfielder, central defender and wing-back. Fernandes later joined Stade Brestois 29 on loan for the 2024–25 season before returning to Switzerland with BSC Young Boys. He has represented Switzerland since 2016, including at Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup, adding international experience to his adaptable club career.
