Emmanuel Essiam
Emmanuel Essiam is a Ghanaian midfielder born in Accra on 19 December 2003. He developed through Ghana’s under-17 setup before joining Ghanaian Premier League side Berekum Chelsea. At 17, Essiam represented Ghana at the 2021 Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Mauritania, playing every match as the Black Satellites won the title. In January 2022, he moved to Swiss club FC Basel 1893, where an injury interrupted his early progress. He later joined Stade Lausanne-Ouchy on loan in September 2023, seeking regular playing time. Essiam subsequently returned to Switzerland and is now part of FC Winterthur, while also being listed with Ghana U23. Standing 183 centimetres, he operates centrally, with a defensive midfield profile built around ball recovery, short distribution and screening in front of the defence.
