Earl William Edwards Jr.

Earl William Edwards Jr. is an American goalkeeper born in San Diego on January 24, 1992. A multi-sport athlete in his youth, he moved from basketball toward soccer and trained in the U.S. U-17 residency program. Edwards was named NSCAA National Youth Player of the Year in 2008 and later developed at UCLA. With the Bruins, he made 61 appearances, recorded 208 saves and captained the team to the 2014 NCAA College Cup Final. He also represented the United States at the 2009 U-17 World Cup, starting in the tournament. After college, Edwards continued his professional career with DC United, the New England Revolution and Orlando City SC. He joined the San Jose Earthquakes on December 30, 2024, adding experience to the club’s goalkeeping group. Edwards is listed as a San Jose goalkeeper.
