Ersin Destanoğlu

Ersin Destanoğlu is a Turkish goalkeeper who developed at Beşiktaş and is currently listed with Al-Jazira. Born in Istanbul on January 1, 2001, he began at Bayrampaşa before entering Beşiktaş’s youth system in 2013. During the 2018–19 season, Destanoğlu became a regular for the club’s under-19 side, making 18 appearances in the Elite Development League. He made his senior Beşiktaş debut against Antalyaspor on June 13, 2020, and soon established himself after Loris Karius left the club. On August 25 that year, he saved six shots on target, including Chuba Akpom’s penalty, in a Champions League qualifying match against PAOK. Destanoğlu helped Beşiktaş win the Süper Lig and Turkish Cup double in 2020–21, while also sharing the league’s clean-sheet record that season. At 1.95 metres, he combines reach and reflexes with a strong aerial presence, and he has represented Türkiye from under-18 through under-21 level.
