Eduardo Celmi Camavinga

Eduardo Celmi Camavinga is a left-footed central midfielder for Real Madrid. Born in Cabinda, Angola, in 2002, he moved to France with his family at two and developed in Fougères. He joined Rennes’ academy in 2013 after initially practising judo, then progressed rapidly through the club’s system. Camavinga became Rennes’ youngest professional at 16 years and one month before establishing himself at senior level. In August 2021, he transferred to Real Madrid, where his ball carrying, tackling and ability to resist pressure expanded the team’s midfield options. He also adapted to left-back, contributing an inverted, midfield-supporting role for club and country. Camavinga has represented France and helped Real Madrid win the 2021–22 Champions League, adding a major early achievement to his developing career.
