Enzo Barrenechea
Enzo Barrenechea is an Argentine defensive midfielder from Villa María. He developed at Newell's Old Boys before moving to Switzerland, where he joined FC Sion in 2019. Juventus signed Barrenechea in January 2020 for its Next Gen side, where he continued his development and later reached the senior team. After an ACL injury in 2021, he returned in February 2022 and made his Juventus debut against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League later that year. He then moved to Frosinone on loan for 2023–24, gaining Serie A experience as a holding midfielder. Aston Villa signed him in 2024, before Valencia took him on loan for the following season. Barrenechea subsequently joined Benfica, where his passing and defensive work continue to shape his midfield role. At 186 cm, he offers physical presence in front of the defence while progressing play from deep.
