Elçin Əlicanov

Elçin Əlicanov is an Azerbaijani football defender who plays for Zira. Born on 15 July 1999, he developed in Azerbaijan’s domestic football system and spent an early part of his senior career with PFK Zaqatala. In August 2021, Əlicanov joined Kapaz PFK, where he established himself in top-flight football and made regular appearances across two seasons. He initially operated mainly at right-back or left-back, using his mobility to cover wide areas and support defensive transitions. During the 2023–24 season, while playing as a centre-back for Kapaz, he scored a late equaliser against Sumgayit, one of his notable moments. Əlicanov moved to Zira in July 2024 and has continued his development as a centre-back, offering positional flexibility and a useful option in the club’s defensive setup.
