Diego Rico Salguero

Diego Rico is a Spanish left-back who was born in Burgos on February 23, 1993. He developed at CD Burgos Promesas 2000, joined Real Zaragoza’s youth system in 2011, and moved into defence after beginning as an attacker. Rico established himself in professional football with Zaragoza before joining Leganés in 2016. At Leganés, he helped the club compete in La Liga during its first top-flight campaign. He then moved to AFC Bournemouth in 2018, where his defensive reading and interceptions became prominent during the 2019–20 season. Rico returned to Spain with Real Sociedad in 2021, gaining European experience in the Europa League. He joined Getafe in 2023, initially on loan, and later continued there permanently. At Getafe, Diego Rico provides experience at left-back and can also cover centrally when required.
