Diego Callai Silva

Diego Callai Silva is a Brazilian goalkeeper, born in Caxias do Sul on 18 July 2004. He began his development with EC Juventude in Brazil, where he trained from 2013 to 2015. In 2015, aged 11, Callai moved to Portugal and entered Sporting CP’s academy. He progressed through the club’s youth teams, helping Sporting win consecutive national Under-15 championships in 2017–18 and 2018–19, as well as a Lisbon Under-17 title. Sporting handed him his first professional contract in July 2020, and he stepped into senior football with Sporting CP B in 2021. Callai was also promoted to the first-team squad as a third-choice goalkeeper during the 2021 pre-season. In January 2024, he joined C.D. Feirense on loan, making 11 Liga Portugal 2 appearances before continuing his development within Sporting’s structure.
