Danilo Filipe Melo Veiga

Danilo Filipe Melo Veiga is a Portuguese defender born in Gondomar on 25 September 2002. He developed with Estrelas de Fânzeres, Salgueiros and FC Porto before completing his youth progression at Paços de Ferreira. Veiga began senior football with Felgueiras 1932 in Liga 3 during the 2021–22 season, gaining experience in the demands of the professional game. In 2022, he joined Gil Vicente and made his European debut in a UEFA Europa League tie against Riga FC. He moved to HNK Rijeka in January 2023, continuing his development outside Portugal. After returning to Portugal with Estrela da Amadora, Danilo moved to Lecce in January 2025. Primarily a right-back, he is also capable of operating in wider midfield or a defensive midfield role, combining defensive work with a contribution to build-up play.
