Dan-Axel Zagadou

Dan-Axel Zagadou is a French centre-back known for his left foot, 1.96-metre frame and aerial presence. Born in Créteil in 1999, he began with US Créteil before joining Paris Saint-Germain’s academy at 12. During five years at PSG, Zagadou developed through the youth system and represented France from under-16 to under-21 level. He did not make a senior appearance for PSG, instead joining Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer in 2017. At Dortmund, he entered the first-team setup, played mainly on the left side of central defence and won the 2020–21 DFB-Pokal and the DFL-Supercup. After leaving Dortmund when his contract ended in 2022, Zagadou joined VfB Stuttgart in September that year. He became an important defender during Stuttgart’s second-place Bundesliga finish in 2023–24, offering height, recovery reach and constructive passing when available.
