David von Ballmoos
David von Ballmoos is a Swiss football goalkeeper born in Burgdorf on 30 December 1994. He began at Koppiger SV before joining BSC Young Boys’ youth system in 2007 at under-14 level. From 2015 to 2017, Young Boys loaned him to FC Winterthur, where he gained senior experience in the Swiss Challenge League. Von Ballmoos made his professional Young Boys debut in a 2–0 victory over Basel on 22 July 2017. He became a central figure in the club’s successful period, winning six Swiss Super League titles between 2018 and 2024 and Swiss Cups in 2020 and 2023. At 1.92 metres, David von Ballmoos has been described as a goalkeeper who combines close-range reflexes with command of his penalty area and measured distribution. After a long association with Young Boys, he moved to FC Lugano in September 2025, beginning a new chapter in Swiss football.
