Denis Vavro

Denis Vavro is a Slovak centre-back from Partizánske, known for his right-footed distribution and physical defending. He developed at FK Tempo Partizánske before joining MŠK Žilina’s academy in 2011, and made his professional debut for the club in 2013. Vavro helped Žilina win the Slovak league in 2016/17, then moved to FC Copenhagen in August 2017. In Denmark, he established himself through aerial duels and direct passing, contributing to Copenhagen’s 2018/19 league title. Lazio signed him in 2019, and he was part of the squad that won the 2019/20 Italian Super Cup before a loan spell at Huesca. He returned to Copenhagen in 2022, helping secure further league titles in 2022 and 2023, and later joined VfL Wolfsburg, initially on loan before making the move permanent in 2025. Vavro has also represented Slovakia at international level, adding European and Bundesliga experience to his defensive career.
