Dimitar Dimitrov Tonev
Dimitar Dimitrov Tonev is a Bulgarian attacking midfielder from Plovdiv, born on 15 October 2001. He developed in the Botev Plovdiv academy before making his senior debut against Ludogorets on 19 October 2019. Tonev signed his first professional contract with Botev in January 2020 and scored his first competitive goal in a 1–0 Bulgarian Cup win over Botev Galabovo that March. Seeking regular playing time, he later spent loan spells with Pirin Blagoevgrad and FC Krumovgrad, including the 2023–24 season. On 1 January 2025, he moved permanently to Cherno More Varna. There, Tonev featured in the club’s 2025 UEFA Conference League qualifying campaign, appearing against İstanbul Başakşehir. Primarily a No. 10, he has also been used on the wings, giving him a broader role in attacking phases.
