Damian Dawid Szymański

Damian Dawid Szymański is a Polish defensive midfielder born in Kraśnik on 16 June 1995. He developed with MUKS Kraśnik and Stal Kraśnik before joining GKS Bełchatów’s academy in 2011 and making his senior debut there in 2013. Szymański helped Bełchatów win the 2013–14 I Liga title, then continued his progression through Jagiellonia and Wisła Płock. At Wisła Płock, he recorded four goals and two assists in 29 appearances during the 2017–18 season. In January 2019, he moved to Akhmat Grozny before joining AEK Athens on loan in 2020 and establishing himself in Greece. He played 30 league matches as AEK won the 2022–23 Super League Greece and Greek Cup, and he later returned to Poland with Legia Warszawa for the 2025–26 season. Szymański has also represented Poland, scoring a stoppage-time equaliser against England in a 2021 World Cup qualifier.
