Dayne Tristan St. Clair

Dayne Tristan St. Clair is a Canadian goalkeeper born in Pickering on 9 May 1997. He began playing as a defender before moving into goal during his youth development, which included North Scarborough SC, Pickering SC, Ajax SC and Vaughan Azzurri. At the University of Maryland, St. Clair helped win the 2018 NCAA National Championship and earned NCAA Tournament Defensive MVP honours after recording 13 shutouts that season. Minnesota United FC selected him seventh overall in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft, and he became the club’s starting goalkeeper in 2020 after Tyler Miller was injured. With Minnesota, St. Clair developed into an athletic shot-stopper who also contributed to build-up play and defensive organization, while becoming noted for penalty saves. He was part of Canada’s squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and started the 2024 Copa América third-place match against Uruguay, a 2–2 draw. St. Clair later moved to Inter Miami, adding a new MLS chapter while continuing to compete for Canada’s goalkeeping role.
