David Franz Skubl

David Franz Skubl is an Austrian goalkeeper who developed in Carinthia and has spent the main part of his career with Wolfsberger AC. He began at SV Lavamünd in 2008 before joining Wolfsberger AC at the age of 10. From 2015-16, Skubl progressed through the club’s academy and reserve pathway. He entered senior football with Wolfsberger AC II, making his Regionalliga Mitte debut in September 2019, although the COVID-19 pandemic curtailed that first season. In October 2020, he was named in Wolfsberger AC’s squad for a UEFA Europa League match against CSKA Moscow without appearing. Skubl signed his first professional contract in August 2021 and became a regular for the reserve side, recording 26 appearances in 2021-22. On 4 March 2023, he made his Austrian Bundesliga debut against TSV Hartberg, marking the latest step in his progression at Wolfsberger AC.
