Daniel Alejandro Pereira Gil

Daniel Alejandro Pereira Gil is a Venezuelan central midfielder born in Caracas on July 14, 2000. He developed at Colegio San Agustín del Paraíso before moving to the United States as a teenager, where he played for Northside High School in Virginia. Pereira was named the 2019 VHSL Class 3 Boys’ Soccer Player of the Year and then began a productive college career at Virginia Tech. In 2019, he started all 19 matches, recording five goals and five assists, and later won the 2021 ACC Midfielder of the Year award. Austin FC selected Pereira first overall in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, and he developed into a deeper midfielder who helped initiate attacks and build play from back to front. He made his Venezuela debut in June 2023 and was part of the squad that reached the 2024 Copa América quarterfinals. Pereira is now registered with CF Montreal.
