Darius Dumitru Olaru
Darius Dumitru Olaru is a Romanian midfielder born in Mediaș on 3 March 1998. He began at CSȘ Mediaș before joining Gaz Metan Mediaș at 14, developing through the club’s academy. Olaru made his professional debut for Gaz Metan in 2015 and helped the side return to Romania’s top flight, later scoring his first Liga I goal in 2017. After more than 100 top-flight appearances, he moved to FCSB in January 2020. With FCSB, Olaru won the 2019–20 Romanian Cup and contributed to league titles in 2023–24 and 2024–25. His European highlights include a hat-trick against Virtus in Champions League qualifying and the goal that sent FCSB past LASK into the Europa League. Olaru represented Romania at under-21 level, debuted for the senior team in 2021, and was included at Euro 2024.
