Daniel Obbekjær

Daniel Obbekjær is a Danish defender, primarily a centre-back, who plays for NSÍ Runavík. Born in 2002, he developed at Næsby BK before joining Odense Boldklub’s academy in 2016. Obbekjær signed his first professional contract with OB in April 2019 and made his Superliga debut that month against FC Copenhagen, becoming the club’s third-youngest debutant. In October, he became OB’s youngest Danish Superliga starter at 17 years and 94 days, then had a trial with Brighton & Hove Albion. He joined S.P.A.L. on loan in 2021 and was registered with its Primavera side before moving to York United in 2022. Later that year, he joined 07 Vestur, where he became captain and earned selection for the 2023 Faroe Islands Team of the Year. Obbekjær moved to Breiðablik in 2024, winning the League Cup and league title, before joining NSÍ Runavík in July 2025.
