Darragh Nugent
Darragh Nugent is a Republic of Ireland midfielder who developed through Dublin clubs Templeogue United and St Joseph’s Boys before joining the UCD academy for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. He moved to Shamrock Rovers’ academy in 2019 and scored twice in the Enda McGuill Cup final as the under-19 side defeated Bohemians 4–1. Nugent made his Shamrock Rovers first-team debut against Finn Harps in October 2020. He then gained senior experience on loan with Longford Town in 2021, scoring his first senior goal in an FAI Cup victory over Bangor GG. A season-long spell at Drogheda United followed in 2022, giving him regular Premier Division football. Returning to Shamrock Rovers, Nugent played in domestic and UEFA qualifying campaigns before joining St Patrick’s Athletic in January 2026. Darragh Nugent made his St Patrick’s debut against Longford Town in the Leinster Senior Cup, scoring twice.
