David Nemeth
David Nemeth is an Austrian centre-back from Eisenstadt who developed through UFC St. Georgen/Eisenstadt and SV Mattersburg. He made his senior debut for Mattersburg in 2019, before the club’s bankruptcy in 2020 prompted a move to Mainz 05. Mainz loaned Nemeth to Sturm Graz for the 2020–21 season, where he established himself in the Austrian Bundesliga and scored twice in 28 appearances. Returning to Mainz, he made six Bundesliga appearances during the 2021–22 campaign. Nemeth joined FC St. Pauli in July 2022 and helped the club win the 2. Bundesliga title and promotion in 2023–24. Primarily a centre-back, he can operate across a back three and contributes to build-up play with composed passing. Nemeth has represented Austria at youth level, including the under-21 side.
