Davide Merola

Davide Merola attacks space from the right, cuts inside onto his stronger left foot, and threatens the back post. He links play with one-touch layoffs from the wing to hover between creating chances and finishing moves. Merola drives at defenders to create chances. Davide Merola rose through the Inter Milan academy, winning major youth titles and becoming a two-time top scorer for Italy's U17/U19 teams. He broke out at Delfino Pescara 1936, scoring 17 goals in the 2023/24 season as Pescara earned promotion. As a right winger or inside forward, he keeps width, checks short then spins in behind, and links with midfielders. He presses high to force turnovers and to pin centre-backs while driving into the penalty area. Merola's movement creates separation and finishes moves with quick shots off the run.
