Daiki Matsuoka

Daiki Matsuoka is a Japanese midfielder from Kumamoto, primarily operating as a defensive or central midfielder. He developed with Sorriso Kumamoto before entering the Sagan Tosu academy, where he made his professional debut in 2019. Matsuoka established himself with Sagan Tosu before moving to Shimizu S-Pulse in August 2021. In 2023, he joined Brazil’s Grêmio Novorizontino on loan, gaining experience in a different football environment before returning to Japan. He then played for Avispa Fukuoka from 2024, contributing from midfield through defensive work, ball recovery and the first pass in transition. In February 2026, Matsuoka moved to Slovan Bratislava on loan, beginning his first major European chapter. Internationally, he has represented Japan from under-18 through under-23 level and was named Player of the Match in the 2022 AFC U23 Asian Cup third-place play-off against Australia.
