Donyell Malen exploits space behind the line, sprinting onto through-balls and driving at defenders as a right winger who can cut centrally. He began to shine at PSV, notably scoring five goals in a 5-0 win over Vitesse in September 2019. Donyell Malen thrives in fast transitions. A move to Borussia Dortmund in 2021 followed, where he evolved into Dortmund's main goal threat and finished a Bundesliga season with a personal best 13 goals in 2023-24. He made his Netherlands debut in 2019 and scored in that match, establishing an international note early. As a second striker and inverted winger, Malen presses high when needed, checks runs, and links play with one-touch layoffs to open space for a central striker.
