Daniel Klein
Daniel Klein is a German goalkeeper born in Heidelberg on 13 March 2001. He began playing at VfB St. Leon before joining FC-Astoria Walldorf and moving to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim’s academy in 2014. Klein developed through Hoffenheim’s youth system and made 66 appearances for the club’s Under-19 side. In the 2018–19 UEFA Youth League, he saved two penalties in Hoffenheim’s shoot-out victory over Dynamo Kyiv in the round of 16. After signing his first professional contract with Hoffenheim in 2020, he played 16 Regionalliga Südwest matches for Hoffenheim II during the 2020–21 season. Klein joined FC Augsburg in July 2021, spending his early seasons with Augsburg II before a 2023–24 loan to SV Sandhausen, where he made four 3. Liga appearances. He has also represented Germany at under-17, under-18 and under-19 levels.
