Dean Ruben James
Dean Ruben James is a left-back born in Leiden, Netherlands, on 30 April 2000. Left-footed, he developed at RKSV DoCoS before spending six years in Ajax’s academy from 2008 to 2014. He then joined FC Volendam, progressing through the club’s under-17, under-19 and under-21 teams before reaching its senior side. On 18 July 2023, James moved to Go Ahead Eagles, where he initially made seven league appearances in 2023–24. His role expanded in 2024–25, when he played 25 league matches, scoring twice and providing two assists. James helped Go Ahead Eagles win the KNVB Cup that season and later featured in the club’s 2025–26 UEFA Europa League campaign. After acquiring Indonesian citizenship in March 2025, he became eligible for involvement with Indonesia, adding an international dimension to his career.
