Duane Holmes

Duane Holmes is an American midfielder born in Columbus, Georgia, who moved to England as a child and developed in Huddersfield Town’s academy. He made his senior debut for Huddersfield in the Championship before spending brief loan spells with Yeovil Town and Bury, and was released in 2016. Holmes then joined Scunthorpe United, where he made 94 appearances and scored 12 goals from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, he moved to Derby County, working under Frank Lampard and helping the club reach the 2019 Championship play-off final. After returning to Huddersfield, Holmes continued his Championship career with Preston North End, operating in advanced midfield and wider roles. His game combines close control, ball carrying and energetic pressing, with movement that allows him to support attacks and cover defensively. Holmes made his United States debut in June 2019 before moving to MLS side Houston Dynamo.
