Dávid Hancko

Dávid Hancko is a Slovak centre-back who can also operate at left-back. Born in Prievidza, he developed at MŠK Žilina and made his professional debut during the 2015–16 season. In 2018, he moved to Fiorentina, where opportunities were limited before joining Sparta Praha on loan in 2019. The move became permanent in 2021, and Hancko helped Sparta win the Czech Cup in 2020. In August 2022, he transferred to Feyenoord, becoming an important defender in a side that won the Eredivisie in 2022–23 and the KNVB Cup in 2023–24. His composed distribution, aerial ability and willingness to advance from the back made him effective in both central and left-sided roles. Hancko joined Atlético Madrid in 2025, continuing his career at a major European club. He has represented Slovakia since making his senior debut in 2018, including appearances at UEFA Euro 2020 and Euro 2024.
