Daníel Hafsteinsson
Daníel Hafsteinsson is an Icelandic central midfielder born on 12 November 1999. He developed at KA in Akureyri and began senior football with Dalvík/Reynir in 2016. Hafsteinsson broke into KA’s first team in 2017 and was named the club’s Young Player of the Season after his 2018 campaign. In 2019, he moved abroad to Helsingborgs IF in Sweden, gaining experience before joining FH Hafnarfjörður on loan in 2020. He returned to KA in 2021, where his performances established him as a regular in Icelandic football. Hafsteinsson made his Iceland debut against South Korea on 11 November 2022, having previously represented the country at under-21 level. In 2025, he joined Víkingur Reykjavík, continuing his career as a versatile midfielder capable of contributing in both defensive and advanced roles.
