Denzel Justus Morris Dumfries

Denzel Justus Morris Dumfries is a Dutch right midfielder born in Rotterdam on 18 April 1996. He developed outside the major academy system with Spartaan ’20, Smitshoek and BVV Barendrecht. In 2014, he received an Aruba call-up and soon joined Sparta Rotterdam, beginning his professional career. Dumfries helped Sparta win promotion to the Eredivisie in 2015–16 and was named Eerste Divisie Talent of the Year. He moved to Heerenveen in 2017 and then to PSV Eindhoven in 2018, where he later became captain. After representing the Netherlands at Euro 2020, he joined Inter in 2021 and developed into an attack-minded right wing-back in Simone Inzaghi’s system. Dumfries uses his pace, height and direct runs to advance on the flank, enter the penalty area and support attacks while covering the wide channel. He has also featured for the Netherlands at the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2024.
