Daan Dierckx

Daan Dierckx is a Belgian defender born in Leuven on 24 February 2003. He developed in the KRC Genk academy, where his 1.92-metre frame supported an emerging central-defender profile, and he did not make a senior first-team appearance for Genk before moving abroad. In January 2021, Dierckx joined Parma and soon made his Serie A debut against Sassuolo, becoming the first player born in 2003 to appear in one of Europe’s top five leagues. After Parma’s relegation and a period that included a loan spell with Jong Genk, he returned to Belgium seeking a fresh start. Dierckx signed permanently for Standard Liège in September 2023, continuing his development at senior level. At centre-back, he contributes through aerial duels, interceptions and secure positioning, while his academy background also supports measured build-up play.
