Djené Dakonam Ortega
Djené Dakonam Ortega is a Togolese centre-back born in Lomé on 31 December 1991. He developed in Togo before beginning his senior career with Tonnerre d’Abomey in Benin in 2009 and moving to Cameroon’s Coton Sport in 2011. After gaining continental experience, Djené moved to Spain, joining AD Alcorcón in 2014 and adapting to the demands of the Segunda División. He then spent the 2016–17 season with Belgian club Sint-Truiden. In 2017, Djené joined Getafe, where his anticipation, tackling and positional discipline established him as a defensive cornerstone. He has also provided tactical flexibility by operating at right-back or in defensive midfield when required. Djené has become Getafe’s captain and leading top-flight appearance holder, while representing Togo internationally, including at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
